Tour of the Mosbeek Valley and Engbertsdijksvenen

Your route starts at Gast Tweewielers, from here you cycle smoothly to the beautiful Dal van de Mosbeek with its historic water mills. The Engbertsdijksvenen is a vast peat area with heathland, forests and fens, a remnant of the large peat bog that once covered the entire northeast of the Netherlands. This beautiful nature reserve is best explored via the specially constructed wooden decking paths, be sure to take a look! Around this area you drive through the Twente peat region. You will find a lot of cultural history here. Get off at Veenmuseum Westerhaar. In this beautiful open-air museum you can see real peat huts, an old typical Vriezenveen farm and a nineteenth-century shop annex taproom. You can let yourself be driven around the grounds in an original peat train. On low-traffic roads you drive back past meadows and fields.
