The first stop on the route is the Flood 1953 Museum in Ouwerkerk. Various themes highlight the flood disaster here: the facts, the emotions and the reconstruction. A little further on, the Aeolus mill in Dreischor looms on the horizon. This flour mill from 1739 is named after the Greek god of the wind. Another attraction on the route is 't Huys Grol. The history of 't Huys Grol dates back to 1599 and the house is now a national monument. It is one of the few privately inhabited country estates in this area. The beautiful Haamstede Castle is an old castle dating from the thirteenth century. In 1525 the castle was almost completely destroyed by fire. Stop off at Hotel Bru in Bruinisse for a snack and a drink!
