A walk around the heathland near Heeze

This cycle route starts at Tapperij De Zwaan, in Heeze. You cycle past Kasteel Heeze into nature. This moated castle is located in a beautiful spot. From here you cycle onto the Strabrechtse Heide, where you experience how large parts of North Brabant used to look. You might come across the large herd of Kempen sheep that still graze the heath. The Somerense Heide consists mainly of heathland reclamation. De Vroolijke Jager is also a beautiful example of conifers that have been planted in an area that mainly consisted of heathland. Nearby you cycle into De Heide, a dry nature reserve where mainly conifers grow.
