Tour of the Witrijt and Hapertse Heide

Your walking route starts at Domein De Kleine Witrijt, after an overnight stay at the Landscape campsite or just a cup of coffee at the catering industry of Landschapsakker De Oude Belg. You will immediately find yourself in a large meadow landscape with wild flowers and herbs, surrounded by natural wooded banks. Typical Dutch land goats graze the meadow. De Witrijt is an area that is part of Boswachterij De Kempen. A wooded area with special nature, such as the nearby Cartierheide and the wetlands De Zwarte Weijer. The walk leads you right along the Hapertse Heide. Enjoy the views over the heathland here. The heath is grazed by blond Bazadaise beef cows, you might see them. They come from Bazas in the Gironde, a region below Bordeaux.
