Alphen-Chaam, North Brabant, The Netherlands
Cycling route: 1282371
Provided by: Groots Genieten
This cycle route starts at the edge of the Chaam forests. You quickly cycle through the pleasant Chaam to Koetshuis Anneville, originally a tenant farm from 1844. Villa Anneville was Queen Wilhelmina's residence for a short time. She camped here with Erik Hazelhoff Roelfzema, the Soldier of Orange, among others. Prince Bernhard also lived here for a while. Your route takes you further through the Chaam forests. The area once consisted of sand drifts, wet heathland and fens planted with Scots pine. The original fens were later dug out again, creating new marshland. As a result of these developments, you can now find more animals and plants in the Chaam forests, including all kinds of birds and salamanders. On the way back, you will discover the Bels Lijntje.
Below you will find various suggestions for breaks that you can visit during your route. These are divided into different categories, making it easy for you to choose.
