Description

The small village of Varsseveld has only six thousand inhabitants. This place was probably inhabited very early; finds were made in the area of reindeer hunters and settlements that traded with the Romans in Roman times. The name Wazovelde, the original name of Varsseveld, already appeared in a deed from 823. A little further on you see the Teunismolen, which was built in 1822. A little further you will come across Theetuin Rensink. The old farm has been owned by the Rensink family since 1650. It is also nice to get off your bike at Farm Museum De Neeth, where you can see how the people of the Achterhoek used to live and work. There is a nice collection with traditional costumes from between 1850 and 1950.
