This walking route starts at Boshuys Hermitage. Take a moment for a cup of coffee on the beautiful terrace on the water before you put on your hiking boots. With this route you will discover the famous Oisterwijkse Bossen and Vennen. You walk along some old fens where you can take a short break on a bench. On the jagged banks you can smell the fragrant gale and you can admire fairytale water lilies in season. You will also come across a few fens on the Kampina, such as the Palingven. The Kampina is a vast nature reserve, the heart of which consists of a vast expanse of heath surrounded by forest. The name is derived from the Roman word campina, meaning wasteland. You can still see that primeval landscape in the Kampina.

Boshuys Hermitage is an attractive restaurant, beautifully situated in the Oisterwijk forests. Boshuys Hermitage gives every visitor the opportunity to feel welcome and relax from 10 a.m. (closed on Tuesdays). Here you will find as many organic and responsible products as possible. After a lovely walk in the woods in winter, it's nice to relax by the fireplace. The terrace offers a view of a beautiful pond where our ducks and goose glide past. Also a nice base for a bike ride along the Oisterwijk forests and fens and the connecting Kampina.
