This walking route starts at the Zalkerveer and Theehuis. At the tea house you can enjoy a cup of coffee, tea or drink with delicious homemade cakes and biscuits. In the summer the terrace is open and you sit in a fantastic spot with a view of the IJssel. With this walking route you will get to know the beautiful Vreugderijkerwaard, which you can see well from the dike. The rare flora on the sand dunes along the river is really special. The beautiful polders and ancient waterways in the IJsseldelta offer a varied landscape that you can enjoy with a walk. It is not for nothing that it has been declared National Landscape IJsseldelta. You can enjoy the wide polder right along the water. In some places you can see for miles.
