This bike tour starts in Dalfsen. From here you drive to De Stokte. This lookout tower is about 20 meters high and has been there since December 2012. From the top you have a beautiful view over the Vechtdal. This region also has several historic country estates, such as the Leemcule. This estate dates from the fifteenth century, although the original castle was demolished in the early nineteenth century. Instead, the building has been converted into a chic residential home. You will also pass the Rutenberg. The history of the estate dates back to the fourteenth century, although a new country house was built in 1828. In picturesque Vilsteren you will see many beautiful houses and farms. Stop off at Restaurant Zalen De Mol for a break along the way!

Restaurant Zalen de Mol is located in a monumental building on the main road from Zwolle to Twente. The building is traditionally a farm with a cafe, but in recent years it has been transformed into a versatile catering company with excellent Dutch cuisine. You can go here for a cup of coffee, drink, lunch or dinner. It is also possible to play a game on the antique billiards table (from 1887!). There is ample free parking behind the building. Walk from here to Landgoed de Horte or take the ferry to Hattem by bike.

If you stroll through the Vechtdal, you will pass Natuurboerderij Lindehoeve in Dalfsen. Here the participants take care of animals and maintain the grounds and garden. You can buy fresh vegetables in the farm shop. But Top Vechtdal offers more. At the craft beer brewery on the Molendijk, there is a lot of cooperation to come to a good beer. Top Vechtdal also offers help in Zussies, where you can score beautiful second-hand children's clothing for a small price. In short, too many to mention. For all details, such as opening times and prices, go to the extensive website: www.top-vechtdal.nl

Uitkijktoren De Stokte

De Stokte is a 20-meter observation tower in Dalfsen that was built in 2012. From here you have a beautiful view over the Dalfsen countryside. The tower was built as part of the 'Room for the Vecht' project. Only sustainable materials have been used in the construction and care has been taken to ensure that the tower fits well into the landscape. The stairs of the tower are made of galvanized steel and the cladding of the tower is made of wood. You can look through the wooden panels of the tower to enjoy the surroundings. It is certainly worth the effort to climb the watchtower. You will not find such a beautiful view over Dalfsen anywhere else. On top of the tower is a viewing platform that offers you a wide view over the river Vecht, the Vechtdal and the accompanying wooded landscape. Only if you are afraid of heights, it is unfortunately better to skip this climb.
