Tour bird paradise Valkenhorst

With this route you will discover Valkenhorst and its bird sanctuary. It is named after the falcons that used to be caught here to be sold to noble courts at home and abroad. Now it is a bird paradise. You will also pass the Tongelreep stream, close to the former fishing ponds. These are now a bird sanctuary and partly inaccessible. You walk straight through the woods to the hidden Brilven. You walk back along the edge of the Leenderbos Forestry. This reclamation forest was created as a job creation project. It is one of the first forests that were deliberately created to also serve as a recreational area.
