Tour of the Peelsche and Kroonvensche Heath

Your route starts at De Oude Brandtoren, in the middle of nature. From here you can walk to De Grote and Kleine Cirkel on the Peelsche Heide near Reusel. In the 1930s, the street plan of the Champs Elysees and the Place de la Concorde was applied to a part of the heath. The circles were orientation points for pilots in the Second World War. Further on you will come across another reference to the war: Monument Executions 20 September 1944. Then you walk through the fragrant forests of the Kroonvensche Heide. Here you walk through heathlands and past fens overgrown with water lilies. You pass the Neerven, the largest fen of the Kroonvensche Heide. Stop here to enjoy the water lilies and the peace!
