Soon after you start you can enjoy a drink on a terrace in Lochem. In this old town there are still many beautiful old buildings, you can still experience the atmosphere of times gone by. Here you drive through the Achterhoek, an authentic cultural landscape of fields, meadows and streams. In the countryside you will experience a refreshing tranquility. In Laren you can admire the village church, a neoclassical water management church from 1835. On your route you also pass a few country houses. House Verwolde is the first. It has existed since 1346 and now functions as a museum. After a cup of coffee at Experience Farm De Kleine Carrousel, you will pass the Zwiepse Molen, a thatched flour mill from 1851. It was originally located on the Zwiepse Berg near Barchem, but was moved due to poor wind conditions.

Wijngaard De Braoke
Just outside the built-up area of Laren you will find the vineyards of the Braoke. Here, different varieties of grapes are grown in a modern, but nature-friendly way. Different types of wines are made from those grapes. The vineyards cover an area of one hectare. This family business was started in 2003. Since then, both blue and white grapes have been grown to make quality wines. The grapes grown here ripen well in a cool climate. This is of course also necessary in a country like the Netherlands, where the temperature is not that high for a large part of the year.
