You start the route in Rijswijk, at Brasserie Almost Thuis / Hotel Hoevevoorde. Here you can enjoy with a capital G. Quality time in a wooded area, what more could you want? During the route you will discover The Hague and its beautiful surroundings. Even though The Hague is not the capital of the Netherlands, the city largely fulfills that role. In The Hague you will get to know the Segbroek and Laak districts, which have been part of the city since 1988. The largest part of the political capital is undoubtedly the center. On the way you will pass the Te Werve estate. The site is partly constructed on a nutrient-poor beach ridge that is no less than 5,000 years old.

Huis te Werve

Huis Te Werve is a monumental country estate located in a protected nature reserve of approximately 26 hectares. The country estate was built on the site of the medieval castle, built by a certain Floris van de Werve who lived around 1260. This castle was probably destroyed around 1350 during the Hoekse and Kabeljauwse disputes.
