Tour of the De Utrecht Estate and Baarle-Nassau

Your route starts at the cozy inn "In den Bockenreyder", where you seem to step back in time for a moment. First, you ride across the De Utrecht Estate, purchased in 1898 as an investment by the life insurance company De Utrecht. In Baarle, the border crisscrosses roads, houses, and gardens. Within the built-up area, the enclave boundaries have been marked everywhere with special paving stones. The national tricolor on the house number signs also indicates whether you are in Belgium or the Netherlands. On the Gorp en Roovert Estate, you discover a monumental hunting lodge in the hamlet of Gorp. You cycle back via beautiful Hilvarenbeek with its historic Vrijthof. Here you see stately mansions and the late Gothic St. Peter's Chains Church from the fifteenth century.
