Round Westkapelle Creek

After an overnight stay or just a cup of coffee at Boutique Hotel Charley\\\'s you put on your walking shoes. You first walk to the Polderhuis Museum, where you learn more about the allied bombing that destroyed part of the seawall on 3 October 1944 and almost the entirety of Westkapelle. This is how the Westkapelse Creek was created, which you will walk around today. On top of the dike, first take a look at the Sherman tank, a clear reminder of the liberation. Outside the village you then walk through woods and fields along the banks of a creek that continues far inland: the remnant of the dike breach. At De Hoge lighthouse of Westkapelle are the graves of the war victims. The lighthouse can be climbed, tickets are available at the Polderhuis Museum!
