Halfway through you will pass Brasserie Near Home / Hotel Hoevevoorde in Rijswijk. Here you can relax and enjoy a snack and a drink. After the break you walk to Huis te Werve, which is located in a protected nature park. The site is partly on a 5000 year old, nutrient-poor beach ridge and partly on nutrient-rich peat, clay and sandy soils. You reach the monumental country house via the driveway of the estate and from the terrace you have a view of the pigeon tower. There is an English garden, a fern garden and a woodland garden. The mansion is colonial English with contemporary chandeliers and marble floors. Partly due to the pond, the estate attracts about eighty bird species. The rest of the route you walk through a lot of greenery. Here you can really relax!

Huis Te Werve is a monumental country estate located in a protected nature reserve of approximately 26 hectares. The country estate was built on the site of the medieval castle, built by a certain Floris van de Werve who lived around 1260. This castle was probably destroyed around 1350 during the Hoekse and Kabeljauwse disputes.
