Round Amerongse Bos and Lonely Oak

From Camping't Einde you can take a beautiful walk through the Amerongse Bos, one of the oldest forests on the Utrechtse Heuvelrug. Some pines date back to the eighteenth century. The Amerong forest is located on a 69 meter high mountain, the Utrechtse Heuvelrug lives up to its name here. It's a bit of a climb, but you get what you pay for. Large beeches grow on the stately avenues, a beautiful sight. It therefore exudes an atmosphere of old estates. In the center of a starry forest you will see the Lonely Oak. The star forest was created around 1790 in the shape of a wagon wheel and this oak was probably planted in 1792. After the Douglasbos within the circle has been cut down, the Lonely Oak is visible again in all its glory.
