Fairytale castles

If you like castles, you've come to the right place in the Heerlen area. Strijthagen Castle in Welten is a rectangular building dating from the 14th century. The castle was extensively renovated, especially in the 19th century, so that it hardly resembles the original castle. This castle cannot be visited from the inside. This is the case at Ter Worm Castle. The current castle was built in the 17th century on the site of its 15th century predecessor. The castle was extensively renovated in the 20th century, because it had fallen into disrepair.
