The wild Forestry De Kempen

Babbling brooks and beautiful poor grasslands, but also parts of a wild heathland landscape await you when you cycle through the Kempen. Explore the Cartierheide in particular during this cross-border tour. The Dalems Stroompje flows through the heath and there are many wet areas. The deeper you penetrate into the heart of the Kempen, the more wild the area looks. In the vast forests around the Belgian Postel, the inhabited world seems far away. The landscape has a rich history, not least because of the monks who still run a centuries-old abbey in Postel. Pedlars used to cross the border over the sandy paths, their merchandise in a basket on their backs.
