The wild De Kempen Forestry

Your cycling route starts after an overnight stay at Hotel Bladel. Babbling streams and beautiful sparse grasslands, but also parts of a wild heathland landscape await you when you cycle through the Kempen. Explore the Cartier Heath in particular during this cross-border tour. The Dalems Stroompje flows through the heath and there are many damp areas. The deeper you penetrate into the heart of De Kempen, the more wild the area looks. In the vast forests surrounding the Belgian Postel, civilization seems far away. The landscape has a rich history, not least because of the monks who still run a centuries-old abbey in Postel. Pedlars used to cross the border along the sandy paths, carrying their merchandise in a basket on their backs.
