Provided by: Schoonenberg
A beautiful city walk through the fortified town of Dokkum, founded in 754, one of the Frisian Eleven Cities. Dokkum has a protected cityscape and boasts more than 140 national monuments. Beautiful buildings include the Dokkum Town Hall from 1610 and the Admiralty House from 1618, which now houses a museum. The city walls surrounding the old town are still intact. Dokkum still breathes its history with the sea and the admiralty. During this walk, you'll follow the canals, with a detour to the Bonifatius Chapel. You'll start at the Hardraverspark parking lot and walk straight into the city center. Look around and enjoy all the beauty at your leisure. Take your time and stop for a bite to eat and a drink along the way!
Tour tip; Hiking with kids! Routes up to 5 km are ideal
