Cycling around Haarlem

From a parking lot on the edge of Aerdenhout you quickly drive through National Park Zuid-Kennemerland. Dunes, forest and tranquility: you will find it all here. You cycle through the village of Driehuis, after which you pass through the Spaarnwoude nature and recreation area. The landscape here has a great variety of rugged fields, forests and lakes. In Spaarndam you drive through the monumental old village center. Further on you drive along the banks of Mooi Nel, in Haarlem you descend along the Spaarne to Heemstede. You pass Landgoed Groenendaal, a little later you cycle through three contiguous ones: Woestduin, Vinkenduin and Leyduin. They were once used by prominent Amsterdam families as a summer residence, but now it is nice to cycle through the park woods.
