With a bit of luck you will come across the flock of sheep that graze this area, a look back in time. Further on you drive through the forests of Echtenerzand. You can get off at Het Groene Geschenk for a visit to the cozy tea room. Buitengoed Weerwille is also a nice place for coffee and cake. The route then takes you along the Wold Aa and the extensive meadows. Just past Benderse you can take a look at the authentic sheepfold that stands on the edge of the Dwingelderveld. The first Pitch & Putt course in the Netherlands was built in 1998 in the characteristic Drenthe landscape in Ruinerwold. As an extension of the Herenboerderij Lange Tieme, this 18-hole course is beautifully embedded in the landscape. Differences in length and obstacles such as sand bunkers, trees and ponds make each hole challenging and unique. Nice to join in combination with a walk or bike ride through the beautiful surroundings! They are happy to serve you a cup of coffee or tea with homemade cakes, lunch or drinks with a tasty snack on the terrace or in the cozy living room.

Kasteel Oldengaerde

7991RT Westerveld

Oldengaerde is one of the five manors who have stood in or around Dwingeloo. The house was built in the first half of the 15th century by Reynolt van Echten. Oldengaerde stayed in the family for about 240 years. Because of their origins and their possession, they were admitted to the Knighthood of Drenthe. In 1717 the manor was radically renovated and a facade in Vingboons style was added. In 2013 the estate was transferred to Stichting Het Drentse Landschap.
