A small-scale allotment, many ash trees and lovely meandering streams flow through small valleys. The Winterswijk National Landscape, located near the border with Germany, is a breathtaking nature reserve of almost 22,000 hectares. It is characterized by a great variety between fields, meadows, hedgerows and mysterious forests. The route starts at Cafe Restaurant'\\\'Domme Aanleg\\\'\\\'. In the Het Woold nature reserve you will also find peat pits and peat dikes: the remains of a landscape where peat was cut. In the peat pits you can see sundew, lavender heather, small cranberries and peat moss, while the dikes are overgrown with birch and oak trees. Special dragonfly species, such as the black darter and the great emperor dragonfly, as well as butterflies float through the air, while small animals such as the great crested newt and the slow worm roam around.
Below you will find various suggestions for breaks that you can visit during your route. These are divided into different categories, making it easy for you to choose.
