Tour of Dommel and Kampina from Boxtel

In the hamlet of Spoordonk you will pass the Spoordonkse Watermolen. This water mill on the edge of the church village of Spoordonk was built in 1453. The original mill was made of wood, but in 1868 the wooden hull of the mill was replaced by a stone wall. During this cycle route you also cycle through the beautiful Dommeldal and De Kampina nature reserve. The area is dense with forests, has extensive heathlands, mysterious fens and meandering stream valleys. Many species of dragonflies float around the water and the heath is covered with many beautiful shrubs, including lavender heather. The forests consist mainly of planted pine forests, where woodpeckers and other birds hide between the trees. A wonderful area to cycle through!
