Your route starts at Restaurant De Veldhoek. From here you can take a beautiful bike ride past castles. Mataram Castle is a villa from 1935. Not much remains of the older house other than an entrance gate, some stone remains and a round moat. The fairytale Rutenberg Castle was first mentioned in 1328, but the original castle was replaced by the current house between 1821 and 1828. Over the years, the fortified, stately home has undergone relatively little change or renovation, giving it a good impression of luxury homes in the nineteenth century. House De Leemcule is located slightly northwest of Dalfsen. In 1824, the original buildings were replaced by the current, stately house. The construction of a canal was intended to provide the house with additional defense against looters.

De Veldhoek breathes history. It dates from just before the Second World War. Here in the outlying area, the restaurant also has a bit of community center status. In the Burgundian living room of De Veldhoek, for example, you can find clover jackets. Or billiard players. Or people from the neighborhood who enjoy a snack and a glass of wine or a special beer from the exchange tap. A cozy place as a base to explore beautiful Heino and its surroundings!

Nearly sixty bird species breed at the Colckhof, so bird watchers can indulge themselves here. The estate dates back to 1300 and the accompanying country house was built in 1840. The country house is privately owned. The estate was laid out in the English landscape style in the first half of the nineteenth century. The landscape consists of patches of grassland, forest, fields and a vegetable garden. In the spring, lilies of the valley, wild hyacinths, daffodils and periwinkle trees bloom here, and in the autumn the forest has beautiful autumn colors. The estate has recently become even more beautiful, because it has just had a makeover. Ponds, canals and ditches have been cleaned, the groundwater level has been raised and the water quality has been restored.
