Zutphen, Almen and Eefde

A beautiful interplay of hedgerows, hedges, old farms, fields and streams form a picturesque, idyllic landscape. National Landscape De Graafschap is a beautiful small-scale landscape that is characterized by the fairytale vistas in a semi-open area. In the scenic landscape are many estates and castles, which are typical of the area and determine its authentic character. One of those estates is Het Enzerinck. A stately country house from 1836 is hidden among the nature of the estate. Tulip trees and magnolias rise above grassy plains, where silvery beauties, daisies and the sharp buttercup bloom. Under the foliage in the park forest, where you are accompanied by the hammering of three species of woodpeckers and the song of the blackcap, robin and the garden warbler, you will find horsetail, valley herb and lesser periwinkle. In addition to the beautiful nature of National Landscape De Graafschap, the cycling tour also takes you past the Mustard Museum in Almen. You can buy mustard in the mustard shop, so that you can enjoy this experience at home as well. In Eefde, before you cycle back to the starting point of the cycling tour, you pass the Boedelhof. This old farm, which is used as a residence, dates from around 1750. The house is adorned by a high hipped roof, on which a weather vane adorns. Empire windows have been installed to the left and right of the front door and various coats of arms have been edited in the house. The oldest pieces of the farm can be seen in the use of smaller, irregular bricks.
