Description

Your cycle route starts at Camping Kom-Es-An in Hengelo (Gelderland) in the Achterhoek. From here you will discover the Vineyard Kranenburg, a small-scale vineyard of 1.5 hectares. In the summer period you can discover here how organic wines are produced. Kasteel De Wildenborch is the next highlight you cycle past. The first mention of the house dates back to 1372. The castle was strategically located in the middle of marshes, making it an ideal shelter after raids. The estate, with an area of approximately 300 hectares, is freely accessible. Then you pass Huis Medler. It is first mentioned in 1483, but was certainly built before 1443. The building was probably destroyed in the Eighty Years' War, because the current house is a reconstruction from 1800.
