Beemster, Waterland and a ferry to Marken

This cycle route starts at Café de Gevangenpoort/Restaurant La Galera in historic Edam. You will soon drive to Volendam. The Volendam traditional costume is very well known. During your bike ride you will pass two fortresses: Fort Benoorden Purmerend, now a wine trade, and Fort bij Kwadijk. Only the access road, a fort guard's house and a shed have been preserved.
