Description

Want to relax for a day? Come cycling in Friesland! You will cycle on car-free paths through a landscape of vast grasslands. First, you will cycle on the cycle path along the Bolswardertrekvaart, which was constructed in 1638. At junction 74, you will find the Bolswarder Tolhuis from 1652. In the terp village of Jorwerd, you will find the twelfth-century Sint-Radboudkerk. In Mantgum, you will cycle through the protected village view, just past Oostwierum you will cycle along the Zwette, a canal that is part of the Elfstedentocht. After a pit stop at Café Dorpshuis Boazumer Mjitte, you will pick up the path along the Bolswardertrekvaart again further on. You will pass through Wommels, at junction 71 you will see It Tsiispakhús, a regional museum housed in a cheese warehouse from 1905. Via the picturesque Iens and Oosterlittens you will cycle back to the car park.
