The Malpie is a popular nature reserve, where you can cycle right along the fens. For example, the paths are no longer constructed nowadays, with a view to nature conservation. But this one is already there - enjoy it!

The Malpie
You get on your bike to discover the Groote Heide and De Malpie, which together form a vast heathland. Small meadows, fens and pine forests alternate on the Groote Heide. You will find even more water in the De Malpie area: fens and the famous river De Dommel brighten up the area and provide the necessary diversity of flora and fauna.

Kempian herbs
The variety that the Leenderbos offers is also beautiful. Coniferous trees provide shelter and between the trees you will find pieces of heath, fens, shifting dunes and winding paths to cute farms. You will also find beautiful windmills on your route, such as the Heimolen, which was rebuilt in the 21st century. Windmill St. Antonius Abt, a stone upper porter, was used as a field hospital during the Second World War. A botanical garden has been created next to the mill, containing traditional Kempen farm herbs and vegetables.
