Mill route Wormer, Amsterdam and Zaanse Schans

Your route starts at ParkCafé - Westgaarde Memorial Park. In the Zaan region, at the Zaanse Schans, a windmill lover can indulge himself! There are no fewer than sixteen windmills in this area, some of which are very special. The windmills, but also other sights at the Zaanse Schans, are a well-known open-air attraction that attracts approximately 900,000 admirers every year. The Zaanse Schans was set up with the aim of preserving the historical heritage, although De Zaanse Schans is not officially a museum. The sawmill Het Jonge Schaap is a replica of the original mill, which stood in Zaandam between 1680 and 1942. The mill is special because there are only eight other hexagonal mills in the Netherlands. You also make a nice loop through Amsterdam - even here you will discover beautiful windmills!
