Mill route Wormer, Amsterdam and Zaanse Schans

Your route starts at ParkCafé - Herdenkingspark Westgaarde. In the Zaanstreek, at the Zaanse Schans, a windmill enthusiast can indulge themselves! There are no fewer than sixteen windmills in this area, some of which are very special. The windmills, but also other sights at the Zaanse Schans, form a well-known open-air attraction, which attracts approximately 900,000 admirers every year. The Zaanse Schans was set up with the aim of preserving the historical heritage, although the Zaanse Schans is not officially a museum. The sawmill Het Jonge Schaap is a replica of the original windmill, which stood in Zaandam between 1680 and 1942. The windmill is special because there are only eight other hexagonal windmills in the Netherlands. You will also make a nice loop through Amsterdam - even here you will discover beautiful windmills!
