Enkhuizen, Wervershoof and Oosterdijk

Located on the Markermeer and the IJsselmeer, is a municipality of more than 116 square kilometers, of which more than 103 square kilometers consists of water. The town is known as'Herringstad\\\' because of its past as a center for herring fishing in the Middle Ages and the town has grown into an important tourist center with marinas, Fairytale Wonderland and the Zuiderzee Museum. Of course, it can only be about Enkhuizen, a beautiful town whose surroundings are also colored by a flourishing flower bulb cultivation. You set course for the Klokkenstoel in Enkhuizen. The impressive tower is twenty meters high and was built in 1519. The belfry was originally skewed, but by covering the outside with wood it now looks as if it is standing straight. The Westertoren, as it is called, belongs to the Westerkerk; a three-aisled church with a choir screen decorated with beautiful carvings and a strikingly beautiful pulpit. The church is used as a cultural center. The Vogelhoeksmolen in Enkhuizen is also nice to see. The a small polder mill that was built in 1855 in Hemelum (Friesland). There he drained the Vogelhoekspolder until 1947, in 1984 he was moved to the Zuiderzee Museum in Enkhuizen. The octagonal polder mill stands on a stone substructure and is both a ground sailer and an upper porter. The old Dutch refuge is 11.60 meters high.
