Tour of Weerterbos and Budel-Dorplein

Between Budel and Weert it is wonderfully quiet cycling in a natural landscape. You drive through the Weerterbos, but also through the historic Budel-Dorplein. From your starting point you drive through the Weerter and Budelerbergen into the Weerterbos. This is one of the few really old forests in the area. This nature reserve consists of a nice mix of moist and dry forests, grassland plots and small moors. There are even red deer. Stop for a cup of coffee at Huyskamer Daatjeshoeve. A little further on, in the rural area, you come across the Janzona, a corn mill from 1937. Back on the road you cycle through Budel-Dorplein. In the middle of the Loozerheide, a zinc factory was built here in 1892 with houses and facilities for the workers. The area is considered a protected village scene, the buildings are located between the coniferous forests.
