Hulst and the polders in East Zeeuws-Vlaanderen

Hulst is a beautiful old town, where you will experience the charm of the most Flemish city in the Netherlands. You can get a breath of fresh air in the polders above Hulst and along the Westerschelde.

Western Scheldt
From the starting point you ride your legs along the banks of the Western Scheldt. Leave the everyday routine behind you, while looking out over the waving water and the many boats that call at the Port of Antwerp. You also drive through the wide Polders of Ossenisse. They originally date from the Middle Ages, special! In the village of Lamswaarde you can see old farmhouses and the Sint-Cornelius, a church from 1873.

Further on you cycle through Hulst, a historic town that is still surrounded by earthen ramparts. You enter the ramparts via the Bagijnenpoort from 1704. You will see many beautiful buildings, such as the fifteenth-century Basilica of Saint Willibrord. You cycle out of the city via the Gentse Poort from 1720. Just after junction 45 you have beautiful vistas of the Groot Eiland nature reserve.
