Breskens and Groede Bicycle Route

Between Groede and Breskens, you will experience a varied bicycle tour. You will ride along the Zwartgatse Kreek, among other sights, an inland creek formed after the damming of the sea arm the Zwarte Gat in 1602. Just past the tidal culvert Het Killetje, you will see the monument 'Three Decades of the Delta Works'. It is a tribute to all the teams that helped with the realization of the Delta Works. Further on stands the Nieuwe Sluis, a lighthouse dating from 1867. In Breskens, you will pass the Mobiele Fietsservice, a workshop for on-location bicycle repairs. The hamlet of Nummer Een owes its name to the fact that it was the first plot of land in the Hoofdplaatpolder. At the Markt in Groede, you can get a feel for the atmosphere of bygone times. At 't Overleg, you can enjoy a delicious meal and a comfortable overnight stay.
