Cycling tour through the Oisterwijk forests

Discover the surroundings of the Brabant Berkel-Enschot and Oisterwijk and cycle through the beautiful nature reserves the Oisterwijkse forests and the Kampinase Heide. A wonderful bike ride of over 42 kilometers where you can completely relax.

Starting point: Berkel-Enschot The names Berkel and Enschot come from older Dutch words 'Berkeloo' and 'Ende Skied', which mean 'Birch forest' and 'Final border'. From Berkel-Enschot you cycle south.

Oisterwijkse Bossen The first part of the cycle tour takes you through the Oisterwijkse Bossen en Vennen. Mysterious fens are hidden in the lush, wild nature of the Oisterwijkse forests. Here in the heart of the forests you have the feeling of being far away from civilization. Peat used to be cut here. Now it is a magnet for dragonflies, water birds and photographers. A wonderful place to cycle.

Kampinase Heide The Kampinase Heide is over 1200 hectares in size and the Oisterwijk forests merge seamlessly into it. This area is also densely overgrown with forests and here too are the romantic fens where you can dream away so wonderfully, but the Kampina also has extensive heathlands. Eventually you come to the Nemelaer estate via the hamlet of Lennisheuvel, which is located near Boxtel. The estate is 165 hectares in size and hidden between old trees and hedgerows leads a stately oak avenue to Nemerlaer castle. Via Oisterwijk you cycle back to Landwinkel De Bollekens in Berkel-Enschot.
