The green heart of Nijmegen

Just below Nijmegen you can take a beautiful bike ride through the woods. You will also pass through nice towns such as Groesbeek and Berg en Dal.

Groesbeekse Bos
Start this beautiful bike tour with a terrace at Restaurant Lime. After you have had a nice lunch here, you cycle into the rolling forests near Nijmegen. Between the trees you can see the plain of Malden Glider Airfield. You cycle through the Groesbeekse Bos, which is located on a moraine. It is an old forest, in which you will find old beech avenues, oaks, birches and conifers. The deeper you drive into the forest, the quieter it becomes!

Mountain and valley
In Groesbeek you will see the Zuidmolen, a flour mill from 1857. You will pass two listening points from the Liberation Route, in between you will pass the National Liberation Museum 1944-1945. You drive briefly across the border with Germany, after which you climb back into the woods to the picturesque Berg en Dal. You will see some beautiful villas and farms here. Further afield you can take a trip to the Africa Museum. You then descend again to Malden.
