Hardy grasses and heather species bend in the wind as you look out over stunning drifting sand areas. The Vierhoutense Heide and the Doornspijkse Heide, which this route crosses, are beautiful parts of the varied Veluwe. During this cycling route, you will get to know this beautiful area. The starting point of this route is Fietsverhuur Hazeleger, where you can rent a bicycle. Ideal! You cycle past Zwaluwenburg Castle. The Zwaluwenburg is an 18th-century Baroque country house, six rooms of which are used as a gallery. The castle stands on an estate with great variety and stark contrasts: there are deciduous and coniferous forests, old farmhouses, meadows, and grain fields. The beautiful Huize Schouwenburg is also well worth a visit.
