Cycling along the Drontermeer

You drive on low-traffic roads through the polders near Kampen. It is wonderfully quiet cycling in this wide landscape. Past the village of Noordeinde you drive onto the dike that lies along the banks of the Drontermeer. Get a breath of fresh air, while looking out over the rippling water and the woods on the other side. You pass through the old heart of Elburg, where you will find a unique historical atmosphere. On Flevoland you cycle at junction 45 along the Greppelveld, a small nature reserve of moist grasslands. You pass one of the many markers of a found shipwreck. Finally, you cycle into Boswachterij Reve-Abbert. It is beautiful here to make kilometers between the deciduous trees.
