First you drive along the banks of the Western Scheldt towards Terneuzen. Once here you turn south. You cycle along the Otheense Creek, one of the many creeks in this region. The name is taken from Othene, a village attached to Terneuzen. Further on you cross the canal that connects the port of Ghent with the Western Scheldt via the Terneuzen lock complex. The canal has been in use since 1827. In Hoek you pass the Windlust, a flour mill from 1857. Via Paradijs you drive back to Terneuzen where you can enjoy a cozy terrace at Taste Churchill . The second loop of this route leads you along the Western Scheldt and through the polder where you visit hamlets such as Oude Stoof, Keizerrijk and Val.
