Nature tour near Turnhout

The Natura 2000 areas are among the most important in Europe. Landscape De Lierenman, where wet and dry heathland, but also forests alternate, is part of this. There is a meadow bird area and many more animals live there. If you want to know more about Landschap De Lierenman, stop at the visitor center on the edge of the area. You will also discover Grote and - a little further on - Kleine Cirkel on the Peelse heath. The construction of these circles is said to have been inspired by the Champs Elysees and Place de la Concorde in Paris. The Great Circle has a circumference of 1700 meters, the Small one of 300 meters.
