The Singer Without Name Route leads you through the Weerter area to Stramproy, the church village of Weert. Along the way you will pass a number of places of significance from the life of the Singer Without Name. You will also pass a number of beautiful nature reserves in the Weerter Land. The Singer Without Name has certainly achieved this status. With the special rendition of the life songs that Johnny Hoes selected, wrote and in many cases produced for her, she will go down in history as one of the most striking and special singers that Dutch and Flemish showbiz has ever known. The repertoire of the queen of life songs still gives many people comfort, love and friendship through songs that are taken directly from life. She grew up under difficult circumstances and in abject poverty. Yet the Singer Without Name managed to work her way up to become the unforgettable "Queen of the Song of Life" who received respect and appreciation in all circles, from high to low, in both the Netherlands and Belgium. During this cycle route we also pass those traditional Dutch windmills that are located in Stamproy: Nijverheid, St. Jan and St. Anna.
