Description
In Breukelen you pick up the path that runs along the meandering Stichtse Vecht. From the saddle you have a beautiful view over the meadows. You will also pass some beautiful country houses, such as Weerestein, which originally dates from 1705. Further on, the cycle path leads you through the Loosdrechtse Plassen. Here you have beautiful views over the water, and you can also see some beautiful old farms. Just before Overmeer you pass De Nes. This lake once contained an island on which a country estate stood from 1687 to 1827. Over the course of the twentieth century, the island disappeared due to sand extraction. You cycle along the Ankeveense Plassen, and you can get off at Restaurant 1244 for a pit stop. You cycle back to Breukelen along the 's-Graveland estates and along the Loosdrechtse Plassen.
