Along estates between Elburg and Wezep

This beautiful route takes you past the many estates and spacious homes in Wezep and Elburg, on the northern edge of the Veluwe. Along the way you will also discover the fortified town of Elburg.

Estates
This cycling tour starts near the IJselvliedt estate and house. This estate was created around 1650 and has managed to retain its authentic character. As a second point of interest on the route you will find Zwaluwenburg, an estate with a small castle. You will also find the gardens of A. Vogel, which can be visited. Landgoed Schouwenburg, a little further on, has been inhabited by various noble families over the centuries. The house is now privately owned.

Elburg
Elburg is a town that originally lay directly on the Zuiderzee, but because it regularly flooded, it was moved. During the reconstruction of Elburg it was turned into a real fortress; the intact canals and the Vischpoort are still reminders of this. So definitely get off!
