Description

Your cycling route starts below Bergeijk. In Bergeijk you will find the Luihuis or Klokhuis. This bell tower (or clock house) stands in front of a church and is one of the few remaining examples in North Brabant. The Luihuis was built in 1669 to replace a collapsed tower. There is a clock in the clock house from 1367. After a cup of coffee at Het Wapen van Westerhoven you cycle to St. Antonius Abbot. This windmill was built in 1865 as a belt mill. Part of the mill served as a field hospital during the Second World War. Traditional Kempen farm herbs and vegetables are grown in the native garden next to the mill. Towards the end of the route you will come across Het Schut, a weir from 1888 in the river De Beekloop.
