Cycling in Valkenswaard, North Brabant, The Netherlands
Cycling route 115416
Provided by: Groots Genieten
A little outside Valkenswaard is a nature reserve full of beautiful moors and fens. The fens are very diverse in size and you will find varied flora and fauna in and around these ponds. You will find, for example, round sundew, bell gentian, tormentil and devil's sewing thread. There are also many butterflies, dragonflies and occasionally you can see mammals such as rabbits and foxes running away. What a wonderful area to cycle through! Towards the end of the route you will cycle past the St. Antonius Abt windmill. During the Second World War, part of the mill was used as a field hospital.
