The Oostappense Heide borders the famous Strabrechtse Heide nature reserve. It is a forest area of 120 hectares. Contrary to what the name suggests, this is not a heathland area, but a wooded area. The planted forests mainly consist of Scots pine and fly pine. Between the trees you can still see remnants of the heath in some places. The Puddingberg, a large drifting dune, is also a remnant of this. The east of the Oostappense Heide attracts a lot of recreation. There is an excavated lake, the Prinsenmeer, where you can enjoy swimming.
