This cycle route takes you through the beautiful area south of Breda, along the Markdal, Galder, Meersel-Dreef, Chaam and Ulvenhout. You start at the Ginnekenmarkt and then cycle along the Mastbos, the oldest production forest in the Netherlands. It provided wood for the construction of Breda Castle and for the ships of the Spanish fleet. The Mastbos owes its name to the many Scots pines, which used to be called 'mast trees'. During the route you follow the beautiful river De Mark for a long time and you even pass through Belgium for a while. In Meersel-Dreef you can take a look at the Mariatuin with a replica of the 'Lourdes grotto'. The route then takes you through the wooded area of Chaam and Ulvenhout.
Below you will find various suggestions for breaks that you can visit during your route. These are divided into different categories, making it easy for you to choose.
