Tour of Bergen op Zoom

You start in the old town with its many monuments and remains of old fortifications. Then you cycle around the Markiezaatsmeer. The route then runs past various estates, such as the Lievensberg estate. This estate is known for natural height differences. There is also a heath garden with about 30 species of heather and various other plants. You also pass Kraaijenberg. Here you have a beautiful view of the Markiezaatsmeer and the Brabantse Wal. A high observation tower and an observation hut allow you to explore the area well. In addition to these beautiful nature reserves, you will come across other nice stopping points along the way that you can visit. Consider, for example, the City Palace of Bergen op Zoom, the Markiezenhof. The lords and marquises used to live here, and it is currently used as a museum. You will also pass Boerke Bogers. This farm grows delicious asparagus and strawberries (May/June), but has fresh fruit and vegetables all year round. You can also take a look at the Zuidgeest cheese farm along the way.
