Through the wooded area of Amersfoort

During this route you will cycle through the forests around Amersfoort. First you will pass Dierenpark Amersfoort. This green zoo even has a unique Dinobos and is definitely worth a visit! Further along the route you will pass the unique sand drifts of the Soesterduinen. These were formed 10,000 years ago during the ice age. The route continues along the former air base of Soesterberg. For those interested in the history of military aviation, the Military Aviation Museum is recommended (free to visit). After the rest in the forests you can end the route with a visit to the historic city center of Amersfoort. The old center has about 350 monuments and three interesting museums. In addition, there are many cozy catering establishments on the various atmospheric squares! A nice way to explore the city. Perhaps you still have energy left to climb the Onze Lieve Vrouwetoren?
