Through the wooded area of Amersfoort

During this route you will cycle wonderfully through the forests around Amersfoort. First you pass Amersfoort Zoo. This green zoo even has a unique Dino Forest and is definitely worth a visit! Further along the route you will pass the unique sand drifts of the Soesterduinen. These were formed 10,000 years ago during the ice age. The route continues past the former Soesterberg air base. For those interested in the history of military aviation, the Military Aviation Museum is recommended (free to visit). After the rest in the woods you can end the route with a visit to the historic city center of Amersfoort. The old center has about 350 monuments and three interesting museums. In addition, there are many cozy catering establishments on the various attractive squares! A fun way to explore the city. Perhaps you still have energy left to climb the Onze Lieve Vrouwetoren?
